Oreo Ice Cream Cake Dessert

With summer temperatures starting to roll around it is time to bring out this no bake Oreo ice cream cake dessert (nummy mess recipe) aka no need to bake dessert with a tasty Oreo cookie crust without melted butter. 

This is our favorite version of an easy ice cream cake recipe that you will love and get messy in the best way possible because of the softened ice cream, yum! 

Any time we make this Oreo ice cream cake recipe there is no need to refreeze this icebox cake because it is gone before you know it. With simple ingredients, this vanilla ice cream, ice cream cake recipe is the perfect homemade ice cream cake recipe to make for any special occasion, especially as a birthday cake!

Recipe Ingredient Notes

To make our Oreo ice cream cake dessert, you need these six ingredients:

• Oreo Cookie (regular size crushed cookies)
• Vanilla ice cream
• Hot fudge sauce
• Cool whip (not whipped cream)
• Milk chocolate Hershey bars
• Mini oreo cookies

Equipment Needed

For this recipe, you only need a few simple kitchen tools. We recommend using the following equipment:

• Baking Dish (9 x 13)
• Spatula
• Food Processor

How to Make Our No-Bake Oreo Ice Cream Cake Dessert

1. Crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor until they become fine crumbs and then line the crushed oreos in the bottom of the pan of a 9 x 13 inch pan.
2. Soften ice cream slightly. Slice the ice cream and lay on top of the Oreos in an even layer.
3. Let it soften a little more for the best results so you can carefully spread it evenly over the Oreos to create the ice cream layer.
4. Then place in freezer for the first time about 40 minutes.
5. Remove from freezer and drizzle melted hot fudge over the ice cream. Freeze again for 20 minutes.
6. Remove from freezer and cover with Cool Whip and sprinkle grated Hershey Bar over the top.
7. For the last step, top each piece with a mini-Oreo.

Recipe Notes

• Store this in the freezer in an airtight container for up to 7 days.
• You can change out the ice cream for either a cookies and cream or a mint chocolate chip ice cream to change up the flavor to the Oreo cookie ice cream cake. 
• Do not keep it at room temperature for long as it will melt fairly quickly.
• If you want to add more toppings, we recommend the following: mini chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, caramel sauce, or even more cookie crumbs.
